The Response Project

Based in Cincinnati, the Response Project is a commissioning initiative that asks composers and artists to create new music (usually for the piano) and new works (of many disciplines) in response to a preexisting artwork or idea.

The Hiebert Prize for Contemporary Music Performance

The Cortona Sessions for New Music holds a Contemporary Music Performance Competition each summer, with the primary intention to encourage future collaboration between Cortona Sessions Fellows. The winner of the Cortona Sessions Contemporary Performance Competition receives the Hiebert Prize: a cash prize and funds to supports the commission of a composer in attendance at theSessions for a new work, with the composer's commissioning fee covered by the IFCM.
